Much to my delight, and i am sure to many poor uni students on a minimum wage, Portmans had copied ( well, mimicked ) the look and it can now be yours ( and mine ) for $159.99. Since it kicked off in 1999, the Coachella Festival has become known as much for its fashions as it has for the live music. The festival took place over this weekend and i found myself daydreaming many times about how much i wanted to be there. Looks like i will have to wait for Splendour in the Grass which is looking just as amazing!

My favourite little store, which always helps me out with huge discounts on some pretty amazing brands, nearly bought me to tears. There i was, scanning the racks for something amazing when it landed in my hands, a beautiful navy and white stripped silk, backless Maurie and Eve dress, for only $120 ( originally $280 ), only one left! I raced into that change room so quickly, but i was left with disappointment. The dress fit perfectly, held everything in so beautifully, until my lack of chest let me down. The straps kept falling and it just wouldn't work. Give a chest less girl some sympathy would you.

Went to Sydney last week with my lovely best friend/ better half.
Now, i am a major advocate for Melbourne being the shopping destination of the world, but Sydney does have some amazing places to shop. Oxford St hosts a variety of places like Scanlan and Theodore, Sass and Bide, Zimmerman, Peep Toe, Ksubi, and Incu.. and thats all just on one block.
The reason for this post is to tell you all about INCU. The main reason i wanted to go to Sydney was to visit this shop and i was disappointed, even if i couldnt only afford a few things. Imagine walking into one shop that has Alexander Wang, Erin Wasson RVCA, Chloe Sevingy for Opening Ceremonym, Bassike, Acne, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Karen Walker and wait for it.. a TopShop Store on it's top level ( unfortunately i was extremely upset with the range at topshop).. you just can't find that in Melbourne.

Picked up these Steve Madden bad boys today on sale, they're satin and make me want to dance instead of walk.

My bag collection is getting ridiculous. I thought i would share the lovelies i had picked up in the last month or so, all but two are thrifted, and i love them all. I never thought of myself as the 'bag lady', but i will take the title with pleasure.

Oh thrift shopping, i do love thee. This shirt ( by piccinini ) was a lovely purchase i picked up for $5 big ones at a vintage store in Vancouver last year. Canada really does have great vintage shopping.

Bonjour, it was love at first sight, that being me finally finding the new range from fashion label Toi et Moi, which apparently hit stores in August, but was yet to be seen by little old me. The label is a spin off from Milk and Honey ( LOVE ) designer Gill Lawrence, and is a refreshing blend of French influences and Parisians twists, mixed with a little bit of Aussie street style cred. Expect vintage denim, tie die, camisoles, skirts and tee's. The places i have seen selling the lovely little pieces are Into The Max ( Lygon St Melbourne ) and Denim and Thread ( High St Reservoir). Enjoy.

What Recession? Thanks to the good ol' Aussie dollar being about 96 cents to the American dollar, online shopping never felt better. I thought i would share with you a little online find i recently got a little too excited about.
Summer has come with a vengeance ( sorry northern hemisphere ) and we are always searching for bathers and bikinis that no one else has, cue Victoria's Secret Swimwear section. i picked up some beautiful bathers ( well they looked great on Miranda Kerr) for about $50 AUD with postage and handling. Not really diggin' Little J in season three of Gossip Girl, but i am still in love with the outfits she rocks off set. She insists most of her clothing is vintage, and she doesn't even have her own stylist. If this is how amazing she is dressing at 16, imagine what the future holds.

Yesterday i attended my first Spring Racing Carnival Meeting for the season. For those who are unaware of what they are, in October and November Melbourne hosts a range of horse races that are generally an excuse for men to drink and gamble, and for the ladies to dress up and wear hats. I wore a dress by Manning Cartel,belt by wilifred, a vintage thrifted hat, which is one of my greatest thrifted finds, and a vintage bag. The day and weather were both amazing. On to Derby Day.
